Hereford Lads Club can this morning confirm that manager Danny Moon has stepped down from position as First Team Manager.
Danny has been an integral part of this football club for more than two decades, and has played an immense part in the development of many local players during that time.
During his time as first team manager, Danny has taken a side, with very little resources, from the Herefordshire leagues, to playing well established clubs in the Hellenic Premier Division, with his last match in charge being a fixture against Worcester City. This, in itself, shows the magnitude of the job that he has done at the club.
He also led the club to a Herefordshire FA County Challenge Cup victory over Westfields, alongside several promotions.
Danny will be a huge loss to the football club, but we respect his decision to step aside on good terms.
John Haycox and Chris Gwynne will take charge of our home fixture against Slimbridge tomorrow.
Lads Club Chairman Mike Shaw has thanked Danny for his commitment and achievements at Lads Club by saying:
“Danny will be a huge loss to our Club and we can’t thank him enough for his enormous commitment over the past 25 years.
“We will honour Danny by supporting John, Chris and the players in every way we can to continue the pathway into adult football that Danny has built.”
The club will release details in the coming days about the search for a permanent replacement for Danny.
