A difficult day for our uhlsport Hellenic League sides in the FA Vase with Tuffley Rovers, Mangotsfield Town, Roman Glass St George, Pershore Town and Wantage Town exiting the competition. There is still some hope for our teams with Fairford Town and Royal Wootton Bassett Town progressing on Saturday, and there’s also a couple more clubs trying again on the 28th October after rain related postponements!
Corsham Town continued their chase of Worcester City in the Premier division with an impressive 3-0 victory in Hereford against Westfields. Thornbury Town were also away winners, picking up all three points at Lydney.
League leaders in Division One, Clanfield 85 were winners again. Second placed Malmesbury Victoria’s game on Saturday was called off due to a very wet pitch, while SC Inkberrow leapfrogged FC Bristol after a narrow 2-1 victory.
In our Division Two both Mortimer and Prestwood scored six, while Chinnor scored five.
