Corsham Town have consolidated their position at the top of the uhlsport Hellenic League Premier division with a resounding 5-0 victory at home to Cinderford Town. Corsham have had a terrific start to the season, not losing in their first eleven league fixtures. They are the only unbeaten side in the division.
Worcester City, undeterred by Corsham’s 5-0 victory, were 8-0 victors at home to Wantage Town, while Highworth Town were also winners.
In Division One the game of the day was Abingdon United’s 7-3 victory over Devizes Town. We’re not sure if there’ll be many more 7-3s this season!
On Friday evening league leaders Malmesbury Victoria travelled to Clanfield 85 and were beaten by the home side by three goals to one. The gap has been narrowed to four points with a lot of football still to be played.
Also this weekend our Division Two cup competitions continued with penalty shoot-out wins for Chalfont Wasps and Britwell. The draw for the next stage will be out shortly with the next round games taking place (mainly) on Saturday 4th November.
