It’s been a difficult few weeks across the uhlsport Hellenic League with many of our clubs suffering from the effects of the heavy rain we’ve experiened.

It has led to dozens of games being postponed, including cup and County Cup fixtures which gives our fixture co-ordinators a whole host of headaches.

These issues pale into significance when you see the sort of clean-up operation Malmesbury Victoria of Hellenic League Division One will have to go through in the coming weeks.

Their Flying Monk ground is currently underwater with little chance of any football being played any time soon. We wish everyone at Malmesbury Victoria all the best as they attempt to recover.

We’d also like to send our best wishes and thanks to groundsmen (and women) who will be doing their utmost to get football played during this difficult period – and to protect pitches well enough so football can be played in the coming weeks too.

Let’s all hope for everyone’s sake (most notably Malmesbury Victoria’s) that the weather improves soon.
