Shrivenham Development 0 Letcombe 3

Letcombe can celebrate their qualification to the knock-out stage of the Bateman Sports Division Two cup at the expense of Hungerford Swifts after a 3-0 win at Shrivenham
Development took them above the Berkshire side.

An even first quarter saw few chances at either end, but Letcombe took the lead after 27 minutes, Nathan Haresnape heading home a free kick from Dan Pear at the back post.

They added a second two minutes later, Harry Green tapping home from close range after a good run from Josh Fowler. Haresnape hit the bar with another header following a free kick early in the second half, and home keeper Mike Brewer saved well from Green and Fowler in quick succession. Fowler hit the bar with a long range chip shot before Letcombe made the game safe with ten minutes remaining. Green broke clear, and although Brewer saved his initial shot, Fowler scored from the rebound.

The young Shrivenham side continued to try to play good passing football, but found the Letcombe defence as organised as usual, with man of the match Nathan Haresnape always prominent. Their only clear chance came in the closing minutes, but Tygen Hall put his shot wide after a good run.

Letcombe face local rivals Wantage Town development on Thursday 6th May at Faringdon in the final of the Faringdon Memorial Cup, and wait to see who their opponents will be in the first knock-out round of the Bateman Sports Division Two cup.
