Westfields FC Field Now Prime Location for Carp Fishing!

Hereford, October 18, 2024 — In an unexpected twist of fate, Westfields FC’s beloved football pitch underwent an overnight transformation, and it’s not the new turf they were hoping for! Torrential rains have turned all four corners of the field into a shimmering body of water, with local anglers already eyeing it as the next big fishing hotspot.

Residents have reported sightings of fish, both real and metaphorical, swimming where midfielders once ran, with one intrepid groundskeeper claiming to have reeled in a “50-pound centre-back” just this morning.

Rumor has it, Westfields FC has already been approached by a local fishing club to host next weekend’s Carp Cup — a proposal which, at this stage, seems more realistic than Saturday’s fixture.

But all jokes aside, the club’s dedicated grounds crew is already on the case. With any luck (and a whole lot of drainage), the field will soon be back to its pristine condition. We extend our best wishes to Westfields FC as they tackle this watery challenge, and we’re confident the team will be back on solid ground in no time. Please keep an eye on the Westfields “X” Feed for more updates, and if the club make a call to arms to help repair the ground, we urge all non league football supporters to help if at all possible. The club is known for not only their footballing skills, but also the carpet like pitch the grounds team present week in week out, some examples of the field are below.
