Premier Division

Brimscombe & Thrupp 1-4 Thornbury Town
Brimscombe & Thrupp were handed a heavy 4-1 defeat by Thornbury Town on home turf. Despite showing some promise in early matches, Brimscombe & Thrupp were outplayed by a Thornbury side that demonstrated sharp finishing and defensive solidity. The home side will need to regroup quickly to avoid slipping further down the table.

Cirencester Town 0-3 Fairford Town
Cirencester Town’s voluntary drop to step five is proving to be more challenging than anticipated, as they suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Fairford Town. Expectations were high for Cirencester coming in to the leave and were expected to make an immediate impact, however but back-to-back losses and no wins in the league have dampened the mood. Fairford Town, meanwhile, looked composed and clinical, solidifying their position as one of the teams to watch this season.

Corsham Town 5-1 Royal Wootton Bassett Town
Corsham Town who are yet to lose a game produced a dominant display to overwhelm Royal Wootton Bassett Town with a 5-1 victory. The result leaves Royal Wootton Bassett’s manager under mounting pressure as the team struggles to find any defensive cohesion. After the form of last season RWBT are still in the minds of all to be back in the top of the table come the season showdown. Corsham, by contrast, will take great confidence from this result as they continue their strong start to the campaign. Who sit in second play tonight with two games in hand over league leaders.

Division One

FC Stratford 4-4 Stonehouse Town
In Division One, FC Stratford and Stonehouse Town were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Both sides showed attacking flair but will be disappointed with their defensive lapses that prevented them from securing a win. The match was a spectacle for the fans, but both managers will likely see room for improvement, especially at the back.

Summary

With these results, some managers will be feeling the pressure to turn things around quickly, and ensure the early game jitters gone going in to the next fixtures, while others will look to build on positive performances as the season unfolds. The coming fixtures will be crucial as teams seek consistency in their campaigns.
