FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round:
In an action-packed day of FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round matches, fans witnessed thrilling encounters and impressive performances across the board.
Burnham and Corsham Town delivered a gripping 3-3 draw, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. Fairford Town put on a dominant display, crushing Cirencester Town 7-0 in one of the day’s standout performances. Hartpury University secured a solid 2-0 victory over Risborough Rangers, while Bishops Cleeve edged past Highworth Town with a narrow 1-0 win.
Kidsgrove Athletic triumphed 2-0 against Pershore Town, showcasing their strength on the pitch.
Lydney Town overwhelmed Thornbury Town with a commanding 5-1 victory, and Slimbridge defeated Malmesbury Victoria 3-1 in a well-fought contest. Malvern Town emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Hereford Pegasus, and Roman Glass St George secured a 2-0 win against North Leigh.
Tuffley Rovers fell 3-0 to Kidlington, and Virginia Water outscored Brimscombe & Thrupp 4-2 in an entertaining match. Westfields narrowly beat Daventry Town 1-0, while Worcester Raiders claimed a 2-0 win against Stourport Swifts.
Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1:
The uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 also saw an array of thrilling encounters, with teams battling fiercely for early-season points.
Abingdon United faced a tough challenge from Wantage Town, losing 3-2 in a closely contested match. Bewdley Town edged out Wellington with a 3-2 victory, and in the local derby Carterton FC secured a 1-0 win over Clanfield 85 FC, in a fixture that was hard fought with Clanfield being reduced to 10 men.
Tytherington Rocks defeated Cheltenham Saracens 1-0, and Ludlow Town dominated Kidlington Reserves with a resounding 5-1 win. Droitwich Spa put on a spectacular show, defeating Newent Town 6-2.
Shortwood United claimed a 2-1 victory over F C Stratford, while Stonehouse Town and Chipping Sodbury Town played out an exhilarating 4-4 draw, providing fans with a goal-filled spectacle.
